Institutional capacity, organizational performance and multi-stakeholder collaboration in local disaster risk reduction: evidence from West Sumatra, Indonesia

Nika Saputra, Roni Ekha Putera, Aidinil Zetra, Azwar Azwar · Frontiers in Sustainability, 7, 1812663

The model distinguishes internal organizational routines from collaboration across agencies. Its outcomes chiefly reflect respondent assessments, with administrative documents providing context.

Finding: The technology–collaboration–performance indirect association is β=0.094 (95% CI 0.051–0.151); political/budgetary moderation is unsupported.

How recurrent floods create inequality in livelihood improvement through education

Leon Vin, Akiyuki Kawasaki, Sutee Anantsuksomsri · Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, 12, 618

Household accounts connect repeated flooding, interrupted work and schooling. The paper develops conceptual pathways of unequal opportunity rather than estimating a causal treatment effect.

Finding: Poor flooded households report unsafe school travel, additional transport costs and income interruptions; wealthier households describe stronger buffers.

Hydraulic investigation of the impacts of climate and land cover change on flooding of the Pinacanauan de Ilagan river in Isabela, Philippines

Princesa Joel M. Yumol, Franz D. Santos · Frontiers in Environmental Science, 13, 1604757

Typhoon Haima provides the baseline. Separate scenarios examine land-cover change and projected precipitation while comparing residential, bridge and agricultural observation points.

Finding: At the agricultural point, modelled maximum depth rises from 1.87 m to 2.11 m with changed cover, or 2.24 m with increased rainfall.

Perceived flood risk severity and response efficacy affect migration intentions in flood-prone regions of Klang Valley in Malaysia

Abdullah Al Mamun, Mohammad Masukujjaman, Mahalasmi Radhakrishnan, Mohammad Nurul Hassan Reza, Wan Mohd Hirwani Wan Hussain · Communications Earth & Environment, 6, 597

The study links perceived threats and coping beliefs to stated intentions. It examines willingness to move, not subsequent relocation or the effectiveness of evacuation policies.

Finding: Perceived severity (β=0.259) and response efficacy (β=0.172) have significant positive associations; vulnerability, self-efficacy and response-cost paths are unsupported.

Inter-agency collaboration in building urban fire resilience in Indonesia: how do metropolitan cities address it?

Ahmad Harakan, Yusuf Adam Hilman, A. Junaedi Karso, Awaluddin Awaluddin, Nurhalijah Nurhalijah, Indah Sidrawaty Muin, Aldy Nurdiansyah B, Arfan Fadillah, Rudi Hardi · Frontiers in Sustainable Cities, 7, 1492869

The Makassar case maps agency relationships and develops a collaboration framework. Much of its discussion is prescriptive; it does not evaluate an implemented intervention.

Finding: The authors describe fire-service cooperation with police and health actors, while identifying unresolved information-system integration and differing organizational priorities.

Disaster communication in the digital age: a community-based case study of media, education, and local knowledge in Pangandaran, Indonesia

Edwin Rizal, Yunus Winoto, Toto Sugito, Catur Nugroho, Falih I. Septian · Frontiers in Communication, 10, 1632436

The case examines how official warning channels interact with community experience. It documents communication weaknesses alongside local preparedness practices, without an intervention control group.

Finding: Informants report broken sirens and interrupted training; the education programme inventory records participation by only two hotels.

Analysis of drought and extreme precipitation events in Thailand: trends, climate modeling, and implications for climate change adaptation

José Francisco de Oliveira-Júnior, David Mendes, Helder Dutra Porto, Kelvy Rosalvo Alencar Cardoso, José Augusto Ferreira Neto, Emannuel Bezerra Cavalcante da Silva, Marlúcia de Aquino Pereira, Monica Cristina Damião Mendes, Bernardo Bruno Dias Baracho, Punyawi Jamjareegulgarn · Scientific Reports, 15, 4501

The study compares regional dry, wet and warm spells. These are climate projections for adaptation planning, not observed disaster losses or operational forecasts.

Finding: Projected warm spells intensify particularly in northern and central regions; consecutive wet days increase especially in central and southern regions.

Adaptation portfolio – a multi-measure framework for future floods and droughts

Saritha Padiyedath Gopalan, Naota Hanasaki, Adisorn Champathong, Taikan Oki · npj Natural Hazards, 1, 48

Simulations compare 1980–1999 with 2080–2099 while representing reservoirs, canals and water demand. The analysis examines both benefits and conflicts between adaptation measures.

Finding: Ambitious reforestation reduces simulated flooding but worsens water scarcity; even intensive portfolios leave extreme flood risk.

How to use this collection for research

Selection and scope

We select HADR/disaster-management studies with publisher or author-institution sources and enough accessible content to check the question, method and findings. Categories aid discovery, not endorsement. Every record states what was read and when.

Language, search coverage and full-text access create selection bias. This set does not cover every study or domain. Limitations and follow-up questions are project critical appraisal unless explicitly attributed to the researchers.

From a brief to the original

Use briefs to select further reading, then check originals before citing or designing research. Abstracts cannot establish full methodological quality. Models do not prove real-incident effectiveness; international findings need contextual assessment before Thai application.
